Physiotherapy helps to
restore movement and function following an injury, illness or disability
using hands-on therapy along with exercise and advice. It can help with problems of the: Spine Headaches Whiplash Neck and back pain Sciatica Posture Joints and bones Pain, swelling and stiffness arising
from injury or disease. Replacement Muscles , tendons and ligaments Tears, inflammation, overuse,
imbalance Different techniques of manual therapy
are employed depending on the underlying pathology which is ascertained
during examination on the first visit. The aim is to resolve the problem in
as few treatments as possible. Advice and exercise to do at home may assist. Cranio Sacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and
enhancing the function of a physiological body system called the craniosacral
system – comprising the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround the
brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch, generally no
greater than 5 grams (about the weight of a 5 pence piece), practitioners
release restrictions in the cranisacral system to
improve the functioning of the central nervous system. By complementing the body’s natural
healing processes CST is increasingly used as a preventative health measure
for its ability to bolster resistance to disease and is effective for a wide
range of medical problems associated with pain
and dysfunction. More information is available on the Upledger website : www.upledger.co.uk These two therapies complement each
other, and after a medical history has been taken and examination performed I
will discuss with you which approach is appropriate for you. |
